Purposeless remarks to undermine bilateral relations 

The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Friday termed the visit of US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton a futile attempt to soothe the feelings of people of Pakistan and remove what they call misconceptions.
Her blunt remarks about presence of al-Qaeda leaders in Pakistan are a blow to bilateral relations.
The visit and promises of a US official known for her pro-Indian inclination is seen with suspicion and people are wondering about her hidden agenda. read more…

People disappointed over attitude of rulers

Islamabad: The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Sunday said our leaders seem to be too much concerned with their personal security and least bothered about plight of masses. Their attitude is disappointing increasingly insecure people of Pakistan.

Kayani’s letter to help counter propaganda, neutralize many tribesmen

The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Tuesday said the open letter of Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to Mehsud tribes may help military to counter propaganda and neutralize many tribesmen.
The letter will help Pashtoon tribesmen to understand stance of army and counter some unfounded perceptions and suspicions. It will influence the attitude of local community towards operation.
The copies of this letter should also be distributed if other areas of Waziristan including those who have fled to cities in NWFP.

Mili operation to help regain investor’s confidence

The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Sunday said that military operation against terrorists in South Waziristan may help regain investor’s confidence.
It will spark confidence of local as well as foreign investors and change the mood in stock market. This will also help country combat menace of unemployment.
“If successful like previous operation in Swat, it will bring peace and economic activity will pick up,” said Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President PEW.
