Shrine donation should be diverted to Gayari victims
Concessions to India can compromise national security interests
The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Friday criticised increasing private visits of President Zardari which are draining national resources.
Government machinery and national wealth has been extensively used in all the uninvited visits of the President which can become a source of embarrassment for people of Pakistan.
No other head of state in the world has undertaken so many private visits to other countries, said Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President PEW.
Talking to Lt. Gen (Retd) Amjad Shoaib, he said that President Zardari has failed to show solidarity with his countrymen at a time when 135 soldiers and civilians of were buried alive under tonnes of snow in Gayari.
Instead of staying back he went ahead with his private visit to India which was a heartless move. He was on a visit to France when national was braving worst-ever floods.
Dr. Murtaza Mughal said that president has donated one million dollars out of national treasury to a shrine in India; this money should be distributed among the families of the victims of the incident whose breadwinners lost their lives defending Pakistan.
At the occasion former Adjutant General Amjad Shoaib said that Indians seems very happy about the outcome of talks between Zardari and Indian PM Manmohan Singh.
It appears that some extra ordinary concessions have been promised by Mr. Zardari due to which the Indians are so delighted, he said.
Masses have no knowledge as to what has been agreed upon in the meeting, he added
President Zardari has no mandate to decide the issues related to foreign relations at his own and in a secret manner, said Shoaib.
He said that this private visit perhaps was under taken to please the Americans because they want to assign the responsibility of taking care of Afghanistan to India, after their departure, the former military officials said.
Government should not give any concessions to New Delhi at the cost of Pakistan’s own strategic interests, said Abdullah Tariq, SVP PEW.

اسلام آباد پاکستان اکانومی واچ کے صدر ڈاکٹر مرتضیٰ مغل نے کہا ہے صدر زرداری کے آئے دن کے بن بلائے نجی دوروں سے جہاں ملک و قوم کا زر کثیر صرف ہو رہا ہے وہیں پاکستان کی بے توقیری میں بھی اضافہ ہو رہا ہے۔دنیا کے کسی صدر نے اتنے نجی دورے نہیں کئے ہیں۔ یہ بات انھوں نے لیفٹیننٹ جنرل (ر) امجد شعیب سے ایک ملاقات کے دوران کہی۔ انھوں نے کہا کہ بھارت میں ایک درگاہ کو دی گئی دس لاکھ ڈالر کی رقم قوم کی امانت ہے جو گیاری میں مادر وطن پر قربان ہونے والوں کے لواحقین کی دی جائے۔صدر زرداری اور من موہن سنگھ ملاقات کی تمام تفصیلات منظر عام پر لائی جائیں اور حکومت پاکستان کی سلامتی و خودمختاری کی قیمت پربھارت کو خفیہ رعائیت نہ دے۔ اس موقع پر سابق انڈجوٹنٹ جنرل جنرل امجد شعیب نے کہا کہ سیاچین سانحہ پر پوری قوم غم میں ڈوبی ہوئی بھی مگر صدر نے اظہار یکجہتی کے بجائے بھارت کا دورہ کرنا مناسب سمجھاجومایوس کن ہے۔موصوف سیلاب کے دوران بھی فرانس کے نجی دورے پر تھے۔انھوں نے کہا کہ بھارت میں اس دورے پر غیر معمولی خوشی کا اظہار کیا جا رہا ہے جس سے پتہ چلتا ہے کہ بعض معاملات طے پا گئے ہیںجنھیں خفیہ رکھا جا رہا ہے۔ صدر کو خفیہ ملاقاتوں میںپاکستان کی سلامتی کے متعلق اہم معاملات پر فیصلے کرنے کا کوئی حق نہیں۔اکانومی واچ کے اول نائب صدر عبدللہ طارق نے کہا کہ امریکہ افغانستان سے فرار سے قبل بھارت کو اہم زمہ داریاں دینا چاہتا ہے جس کے لئے راہ ہموار اور پاکستان کے سٹرٹیجیک مفادات پر سودے بازی کی جا رہی ہے ۔
