Govt asked to take note of irregularities in the Apex chamber
The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Thursday said situation is deteriorating in the FPCCI due to mismanagement and misuse of power which calls for immediate attention of the authorities concerned.
The ruling United Business Group (UBG) has planned to muster support through misuse of funds and replace majority of the staff by harassing them, it said.
Uncertainty looms as staff of the FPCCI head office is forced to work until midnight without overtime or any other facility and they have to listen to the telephonic speech of the president of the chamber which contains little except self-praise, said Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President PEW.
He said that some senior officials have been forced to work against petty jobs, manager of the office of the president FPCCI has been forced to work as receptionist and permanent staff is being mentally tortured by publication of the advertisements for the jobs they have occupied since long.
Sources in the FPCCI told Dr. Murtaza Mughal that all the decisions are being dictated by an industrial group of Faisalabad while the elected representatives including vice presidents have little say in the critical decisions.
Former president FPCCI Zakria Usman said that resources of the FPCCI are being mercilessly used to buy loyalties, keep friends happy and increase the vote bank.
The cars of the FPCCI are serving those who have doesn’t quality to use official vehicles which speaks of the mentality leadership of the UBG, said Usman
UBG which blamed Businessman Panel for mismanagement and corruption has been following the same path rather aggressively which proves that slogan of change proved to be a change of faces.
The FPCCI staff demanded of the government to take to task the UBG leaders involved in the corruption worth tens of millions in the construction of FPCCI Capital Office Building, Display Centre of the ICCI and asked commerce ministry to take stock of the situation to save this institution marred by inefficiency.
