The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Sunday said efforts of White House to install a handpicked regime in Egypt could further destabilise oil-rich region.
Efforts aimed at aborting revolution can result in enhanced civil unrest that will send oil prices to unprecedented heights pushing millions more into poverty and prevent worldwide growth, it said.
Soaring oil prices are not in the interest of anyone; it will add to wealth while millions will suffer; everyone lose in the end, said Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President PEW.Egypt crisis can only be resolved if dictator is ousted along with his team and true representative government is allowed to come into power, he said.
The Obama administration envisions a regime based on the military, Mubarak adjutants, corrupt opposition leaders, UN and Arab League officials know for their affiliations, he said.
Choosing politicians from ruling National Democratic Party and officials heading notoriously brutal security apparatus will amount to hijacking revolution that will unleash another wave of mass anger, he warned.
Common people in Egypt and elsewhere will not accept a US-brokered transition as a genuine democratic development, he warned.
He said failing to hijack revolution, the US could paint popular opposition as terrorists to back measures of repression.
There is an urgent need for the creation of the truly representative political leadership that can reform society and economy, said Dr. Murtaza Mughal.
World should support protests as it could lead to economic and political reform that will ultimately help the global economy.
He said that Pakistani rulers should also try to learn a lesson from developments in Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Syria and Algeria before it provokes similar protests, which will compel investors to move money back and may send them packing.

اسلام آباد( فروری 06 ) پاکستان اکانومی واچ کے صدر ڈاکٹر مرتضیٰ مغل نے کہا ہے مصر میںانقلاب کو سبوتاژ کر کے کٹھ تیلی حکومت لانے کی امریکی سازشوں سے تیل کی قیمتیں بڑھ رہی ہیں اور ایک نیا عالمی بحران جنم لے رہا ہے جس سے نہ صرف کروڑوں عوام مزید غریب ہو جائیں گے بلکہ عالمی شرح نمو بھی بری طرح متاثر ہو گی۔امریکہ کی حمایت یافتہ مصنوعی متبادل قیادت جو فوجی جرنیلوں، خونخوار بیوروکریٹس، نیشنل ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی کے کرپٹ سیاستدانوں، پاکٹ اپوزیشن اور اقوام متحدہ میں انکے ایجنٹوں پر مشتمل ہے کے آنے سے مسلم دنیا میںعوامی بے چینی بڑھے گی اور امریکہ مخالف جزبات میںمزید اضافہ ہو گا۔ ڈاکٹر مرتضیٰ مغل نے کہا کہ امریکہ مصر میں ناکامی کی صورت میں اپوزیشن رہنماﺅں کو دہشت گرد قرار دینے اور انکے خلاف ریاستی جبراور دیگر کاروائیوں کو جائز قرار دینے کی سازش بند کرے۔مغرب یہ سمجھنے کی کوشش کرے کہ مسلم ممالک میں جمہوریت آنے سے سیاسی اور معاشی اصلاحات کا سلسلہ شروع ہو جائے گاجس کا مثبت اثر ساری دنیا پر پڑے گا۔ڈاکٹر مغل نے کہا کہ ہمارے حکمران عرب ممالک کی صورتحال سے سیکھیں ورنہ سرمایہ مستحکم منڈیوں کی طرف منتقل ہو جائے گا اور انکا اقتداربھی ختم ہو سکتا ہے۔
