The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Friday said government should push the objective of building bridges among Pakistani and international business community by promoting commerce and trade through corporate exhibitions and conferences.
Amid deepening economic globalization trend, local business community is lacking greater emphasis on outreach through domestic and international trade fairs which is an obstacle in the national development, it said.
Business chambers should plan to hold commercial expos and conferences to enhance integration between local and the international business community, said Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President PEW.
Majority of the Pakistani companies lack brand development skills and innovation which hurt their profits while others reap dividends of their labour, he observed.
Government should realise growing requirement of the exhibitions, trade fairs, and international networking to help business community find new customers.
Application of technology in the economy has become increasingly evident. Network technology for the development of enterprises has brought in new opportunities that needs to be explored, Dr. Murtaza Mughal Observed.
The world economy will continue to strengthen the eastward shift trend which provides new opportunities to the Pakistani businessmen, he informed.
He said that the role of exhibitions in marketing mix is increasing which calls for understanding the comprehensive importance of the exhibition industry. We need to take full advantage of the situation in and around Pakistan, he added.
Exhibitions will also help business community improve image of Pakistan in the comity of nations, Dr. Mughal concluded.

اسلام آباد پاکستان اکانومی واچ کے صدر ڈاکٹر مرتضیٰ مغل نے کہا ہے کہ حکومت کو مقامی اور بین الاقوامی تاجر برادری کے مابین دوریاں مٹانے کے لئے اقدامات کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔گلوبلائیزیشن کے اس دور میں تجارتی نمائشوں کی اہمیت میں تیزی سے اضافہ ہو رہا ہے مگر مقامی تاجر برادری کو اس کی اہمیت کا احساس نہیں ہے کو ملکی ترقی کے راستہ میں رکاوٹ ہے۔انھوں نے کہا کہ دنیا بھر میں آن لائن نمائشوں کا رواج بھی عام ہو رہا ہے مگر یہاں کسی کو اس کا ادراک نہیں ہے۔ بزنس چیمبروں کو بھی اس سلسلہ میں آگے آ کر نمائشوں اور بین الاقوامی کانفرنسوں کے لئے بھرپوراقدامات کرنا ہونگے تاکہ کاروباری برادری کے لئے نئی منڈیوں، نئے گاہکوںاور منافع میں اضافہ کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔ ڈاکٹر مرتضیٰ مغل نے کہا کہ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی معیشت کا اہم حصہ بن چکی ہے جس کے بغیر کاروبار کی بڑھوتری کا تصور مشکل ہے۔اس سلسلہ میں حکومت اور نجی شعبہ کو اقدامات کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔
ڈاکٹر مغل نے کہاکہ پاکستان کی اکثر کمپنیاں بین الاقوامی نیٹ ورکنگ کی اہمیت اوربرانڈ بنانے و جدت سے عاری ہیں جس کی وجہ سے انکا منافع کوئی اور لے اڑتا ہے۔دنیا کی معیشت کا رخ مغرب سے مشرق کی طرف ہو چکا ہے اور ہمیں اس سے فائدہ اٹھانے کی ضرورت ہے۔انھوں نے کہا کہ نمائشوں کے زریعے کاروبار اور روزگار کے علاوہ ملک کا امیج بھی بہتر بنایا جا سکتا ہے۔
