The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Thursday said all important policies are being framed while keeping in mind the interests of elite which are less than one per cent while over ninety nine per cent masses are facing worst type of exploitation.
Government’s policies are helping rich amass more wealth while underprivileged are becoming poorer by the passage of every day which has left majority desperate, said Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President PEW.
He said divide between haves and have-nots is widening pushing poor to choose between feeding families and providing education to children. Hence, they have been deprived of a tool that can lift their less advantaged children to success.
Such policies have helped Pakistan earn honour of highest school dropout rate in the world; these children enter into cruel labour market to save families from starvation and endue worst forms of abuse.
Dr. Murtaza Mughal said that regulators are dancing on the tune of the regulated while important institutions are serving the interests of moneyed class beyond their expectations.
Politicians, generals, landed aristocracy and urban elite are multiplying their fortunes at an amazing speed which our financial wizards define as economic progress, he said.
Contrary to that, poor are being systematically denied of basic facilities like health, education, clean drinking water, access to law and equal opportunities; now situation has worsened to an extent where feeding families has become impossible forcing many to kill children or commit suicides.
Challenges like resource mobilisation, increasing expenditures, growing fiscal and trade deficits, depleting infrastructure, falling tax-to-GDP ratio, lack of balance between direct and indirect taxes etc. are result of the policies of serving and protecting the affluent.
Political parties led by billionaires who consider bribing upper-class necessary for their survival are playing havoc with the country and helpless majority.
Untouchable nobility has forgotten that patience of those being mobilised downward forcibly have limits, warned Dr. Mughal.

پاکستان اکانومی واچ کے صدر ڈاکٹر مرتضیٰ مغل نے کہا ہے کہ حکمرانوں کی تمام پالیسیاں ایک فیصدسے کم اشرافیہ کے مفادات کے تحفظ اور انکے سرمائے میں اضافہ کے لئے بنائی جا رہی ہیں جبکہ ننانوے فیصد سے زیادہ عوام کو ملکی تاریخ کے سب سے منظم اورجابرانہ استحصال بھگت رہے ہیں۔ملک کے تمام ایگولیٹری ادارے زبانی جمع خرچ کر رہے ہیں اور انکے سربراہ ان سرمایہ داروں کے غلام بنے ہوئے ہیں جنکی رسائی طاقت کے ایوانوں تک ہے اور تمام پالیسیاں انکی مرضی کے مطابق بنائی اور بدلی جاتی ہیں۔ایک سوچے سمجھے منصوبہ کے تحت بالادست طبقہ کی پر تعیش زندگی مزید آسان جبکہ عوام کی زندگی عذاب بنائی جا رہی ہے۔حکومتی ایوانوں و پالیسیوںمیںسماجی مساوات ،عوامی فلاح اور روزگارکا کہیں زکر وتصورتک نہیں جس کی وجہ سے امیر اور غریب کا فرق تیزی سے بڑھتا جا رہا ہے اور معاشرے میں زبردست بے چینی جنم لے رہی ہے۔ ڈاکٹر مرتضیٰ مغل نے کہا کہ حکومت کے علاوہ تمام اداروں کے غلام صفت سربراہان بھی اشرافیہ کی خدمت انکی توقع سے بڑھ کر کر رہے ہیںجس سے پاکستان ان مجرموں کے لئے جنت بن گیا ہے۔پاکستانی ارب پتیوں، سیاستدانو ں اور جنرلوں کی دولت میں ہر سال ستر سے اسی فیصد اضافہ ہو رہا ہے جسے اکنامک منیجر ملکی ترقی کہتے ہیں جبکہ عوام پر تعلیم، صحت اورروزگاراوریکساں مواقع کے دروازے بند کردئیے گئے ہیں اور عوام بچوں کو سوکھی روٹی کھلانے کے قابل بھی نہیں رہے ہیں۔ڈاکٹر مغل کے مطابق حکمران اور اشرافیہ زیادہ سے زیادہ قومی وسائل لوٹنے کی دوڑ میں یہ بھول گئے ہیں کہ انکے لالچ کا نتیجہ انقلاب کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہوگا۔ ارب پتی سیاستدانوں کی پارٹیاںجو امیر کو امیر تر اور غریب کو غریب ترکرنے کی عوام دشمن اور ظالمانہ پالیسیوںکو اپنی بقاء کی ضمانت سمجھتی ہیں انکی غلط فہمی بھی جلد دور ہو جائے گی کیونکہ غریبوں کے صبر کی بھی ایک حد ہوتی ہے۔
